This would be funny if it wasn't true:

In a related story, the New York Post published an editorial about the news brownout surrounding the anti-terror demonstrations. The article, entitled “Media Vs. Hope” is a great commentary on the current bias in the media and how bloggers on the Internet are putting a huge-ass spotlight on that issue.
And I think that's a really important story here. The news media can no longer ignore important stories just because they have some kind of bias against the issues involved. If they do, like they continue to daily in Iraq and other places, they will push themselves further and further into irrelevance.

Zeyad posted more about his experiences during the protests. He also reveals that in addition to the 10-20,000 people marching in Baghdad, there were also similar demonstrations going on in all the major cities of Iraq, including Sunni cities.
I truly think it is hard to overestimate the impact these demonstrations will have on the Iraqi people, and the people of the world. The Iraqi people are standing up, and I couldn't be more proud. It is exciting to watch a people realize their freedom after being oppressed for so long.
And, sadly, if it wasn't for bloggers like Zeyad, the world would know nothing except “Another American Soldier Was Wounded Today”.
