Italy - Capri
The Isle of Capri. Famous vacation destination of the Roman emperors, Capri is also the home of the legendary Blue Grotto. Sadly, the water-cave is only accessible about 50 days out of the year, due to rough waters making the entrance unsafe. Tours of the grotto were closed during my trip. Capri is also famous for "limoncello", the captivating lemon liqueur produced by the locals. If you look carefully at the pictures, you can see the treacherous foot-path that servants walked daily to the top of the island to service the rich inhabitants who lived above. Also in this collection are pics of Sorrento, the mainland launching point for visitors bound for Capri, and the place where I had my very first taste of real Italian pizza. There are also some pics of nearby Mount Vesuvius. These are my pictures.
